According to City Administrator Brett Klein local businesses will match the available funds in order to improve the city’s historic downtown courthouse square district as well as façade improvements.
“When people see nice, clean lined buildings it presents itself well to those coming into the area,” he said. “It allows us to stay true to the historical downtown nature.”
Design and budgeting could start as early as November with construction starting in Spring/Summer 2014.
Klein added the downtown square will be much different in a year.
“We’re really looking forward to this,” he said. “This time next year, the downtown area will look like it had a facelift.”
Updates on the project can be found on the city’s website, www.adeliowa.org, and through their newsletter.
