Dallas County Foundation donates $8,000 to project
After raising $5,000 at a special viewing of Nile Kinnick Jr.’s Heisman Trophy with special guest Herky the Hawk earlier this month, the Adel Historical Museum was awarded an $8,000 grant from the Dallas County Foundation June 23.
The musuem has now raised $66,000 toward the $70,000 needed to construct a 840-square-feet museum addition that will showcase collections from former Adel residents Nile Kinnick, Jr. and Governor George Washington Clarke.
The proposed museum wing will be 36-feet by 28-feet wide with an accessible parking stall and landscaped planting beds. The addition will feature oak flooring and a ceiling height of nine feet.
