August 11

The Adel Police Department assisted the Perry Police Department in locating and recovering stolen property that was in Adel.

August 9

A two vehicle property damage accident occurred at the intersection of N. 11th Place and Grove Street. Rylee J. Wahman, 415 N. 11th Place, Adel was southbound on N. 11th Place and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Grove Street. She then proceeded onto Grove Street and was struck by a vehicle operated by Madena M. Burman, 315 Oak Street, DeSoto. Each vehicle sustained approximately $600 damage. Wahman was cited for failure to yield upon entering through highway.

Adam Kenneth Larsen, age 30, 713 17th Street, Des Moines, was arrested for public intoxication.

August 8

Doug Matthew Pasut of 317 Walnut, DeSoto reported the attempted burglary of his storage unit located at the DeSoto Self Storage.

Melissa Marie Doody, age 22 of 458 Saratoga St., St. Paul, MN was arrested at 700 Debra Dr., Van Meter for Possession of a controlled substance and Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Edwin Michael Melendez, age 22 of 1285 Eleanor Avenue, St. Paul, MN was arrested at 700 Debra Dr., Van Meter for Possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

August 7

Alfred D. Stout, 22 River Vista Drive, Adel, reported criminal mischief.

August 6

A two vehicle property damage accident was investigated at the intersection of R16 & Highway 6, Adel. Robert I. Shoeman, 15345 Ridgeview Drive, Clive, was westbound on Highway 6. Marilyn L. Ward, 1504 Sycamore St., Dallas Center, was southbound on R16. Ward proceeded into the intersection at Highway 6 and was struck by Shoeman. Shoeman’s vehicle sustained approximately $250 damage. Damage to Ward’s vehicle is estimated at $1000. Ward was cited for failure to yield upon entering through highway.

Joseph Allan Edwards, age 21, 418 Brown Street, Iowa City, was arrested for no drivers license and cited for speeding and failure to prove insurance.

August 5

The City of Adel reported criminal mischief at Kinnick-Feller Park, Adel.
