Sports-themed restaurant open in Van Meter

Bob Feller is not the only legend in Van Meter these days. A new restaurant and bar called Legends Fieldhouse Bar and Grill is now open for business right next to Casey’s at 420 Mill Street in Van Meter.

Owners Paul Scieszinski and Dean Scieszinski are excited to have this sports-themed restaurant, and want to support the local teams in Van Meter, as well as national and collegiate sports.

A ribbon cutting was held May 1 to open this new establishment and was attended by Mayor Allan Adams and City Manager Jake Anderson of Van Meter. Owner Dean Scieszinski said, “Kids are welcome in our restaurant and we have free WI-FI (Internet) so they can do their homework here and enjoy an after school treat. We are planning a lot of great specials including Taco Tuesday and a Monday Steak Night. We also have great tasting pizza.”

The reasonable priced Legends menu includes a kids menu. Family friendly with multiple televisions and a lively local atmosphere, this restaurant is sure to be a community hit. Legends Fieldhouse Bar and Grill is also open until 2 a.m. some nights (including weekends).

Themed parties are going to be a festive part of the Legends Fieldhouse activities. The first party was a Kentucky Derby party, and with big sporting events such as the Super Bowl or Indy 500, a party will be held. Legends is also hosting a six-person, co-ed sand volleyball tournament Saturday, July 12. The cost is $50 per team with registration starting at noon and the tournament starting at 1 p.m. Stop in or call to sign up for this 12-team tournament today.
