Five finalists have been selected for the upcoming opening of the Police Chief position in Waukee. Longtime Police Chief Larry Phillips will be retiring on Mar. 15, after 34 years of service. “We are pleased with the large number of candidates who are interested in serving the citizens of Waukee, and more importantly, the quality of the candidates,” stated Waukee Mayor Bill Peard. “They are proven leaders, well-educated, and committed to effective law enforcement. We are confident that through our process, we will identify the candidate that best fits the needs of the community.”
The five finalists, who were selected by Mayor Bill Peard and the City of Waukee, will be interviewed on Jan. 28. The finalists are:
• Jeff Foster, District Executive Officer, Aurora, Colorado; • Brian Hughes, Police Chief, Webster City, Iowa; • Christopher Jones, Police Captain, Marshalltown, Iowa; • John Quinn, Assistant Director, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Des Moines, Iowa; and
• Tim Sittig, Police Chief, Pleasant Hill, Iowa.
