Granger Days will feature parade, tractor pull, bags tournament

The City of Granger will be holding their 2013 Granger Days the weekend of Friday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Sept. 22.

The event kicks off Friday night at 5 p.m. where food vendors and beer garden will be open. Then at 6 p.m. a hypnotist show will be performed by Dan Ladd and at 8 p.m. the Des Moines ban Bound2Be will hit the stage.

Saturday morning starting at 8 a.m. a pancake breakfast at the Assumption Church will take place with the parade, featuring the Isiserettes Drill & Drum Corp, following at 10 a.m.

The day also includes stage shows, a bags tournament, helicopter rides, bingo, a vendor fair, kids tractor pull, NASCAR Simulator, a food festival, beer garden, and a 5K Undie Run.

Sunday wraps up the event with volleyball, kickball and cribbage tournaments. Sign-up is currently underway, but spaces are limited. Those interested can sign up at www.grangerdays.com.

The event is free and open to the public.

To pre-purchase tickets for the carnival rides, stop by the Granger Public Library or City Hall. Tickets are being sold at $16 for 22 tickets which includes a free Granger Days water tumbler, but supplies are limited.
