Grimes Public Library

Book Club: Monday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. The Grimes Library Book club will meet at 7pm to discuss “Please Look After Mom,” by Kyong-suk Sin.

Youth Advisory Council (YAC): Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m.

Youth ages 11 and up are invited to come share ideas about future library events and learn about volunteer opportunities. Snacks will be served!

Tail Waggin’ Readers: Saturday, Dec. 7 at 9-11 a.m.

Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog! Students in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade may sign up for a 20 minute time slot to read to a therapy dog partner. Please call the library to register, 986-3551.

Gingerbread House Workshops: Saturday, Dec. 7 and 21 at 1 p.m.

Keep your kitchen clean and leave the mess to us! Come make an edible candy house out of graham crackers to take home for this holiday season. Cost is $5. Please pay and register by the Wednesday before the event. All ages welcome (caregivers please accompany children under age 7).

Kids Night: Snowflake Fun!: Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m.

The Second Tuesday of Every Month is Kids Night! Events will be planned for kids ages 5 + and their caregivers. We will be making snowflakes out of puzzle pieces, playing with homemade snow, and making old fashioned paper snowflakes.

Early Out Adventures: Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 1:30 p.m.

School age kids are invited to come to the library after school on early dismissal days for fun activities! We’ll be making Christmas crafts today. No registration required.
