The week of March 23-29, 2014, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Dallas County will celebrate the land-grant mission of putting the university’s research and resources to work throughout the state of Iowa.
ISU Extension and Outreach is a statewide network supported by Iowa State University, local county governments and the United States Department of Agriculture. Every county in Iowa has an elected extension council that decides how to support ISU Extension and Outreach’s educational programs at the county level. “We’re focused on feeding people, keeping them healthy, helping their communities to prosper and thrive, and turning the world over to the next generation in better shape than we found it,” said Extension and Outreach Vice President Cathann Kress. To kick-start the celebration, Dallas County Extension and Outreach would like to thank their volunteers, community leaders, organizations, agencies, partners, program participants and clients who have supported their educational mission. County staff also would like to invite the public to come visit their office located on the Dallas County Fairgrounds north of Adel during the work week from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. for treats, giveaways and prize drawings.
