Ladies Auxiliary installs new officers, hands out awards for local contest

The Ladies Auxiliary to the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 11517 held their election of officers on April 3, 2014 at 7 P. M. at the Waukee Vet’s Hall, 410 S 6th Street, Waukee, IA. Installation of officers will be held Aug. 7, 2014.

Unfortunately the Ladies Auxiliary Junior Girls Unit is disbanded.

They also awarded local students in the “I Love America Because” Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy Youth Essay contest. Participants included students from Van Meter and Dallas Center-Grimes Schools. Winners included only students from Van Meter. “I Love America Because …….”
