The Village at Legacy Pointe Retirement Community of Waukee invites the community to an afternoon of German dining and dancing at their Oktoberfest celebration on Friday, Oct. 25 from 2 – 5 p.m.
In the spirit of Oktoberfest, a traditional menu of German potato salad, mini sausages, Reuben bites and German chocolate cake will be served.
David R. Losure & Mary Schaeffer-Losure form the band Flying Pig Fiddle & Banjo will perform old-time Appalachian music on fiddles, banjos, milk pails and more. Legacy Pointe residents and guests are invited to tap their feet to the unique rhythms, or join in the fun by dancing, playing the wash tub and learning the “hambone.”
“Flying Pig Fiddle & Banjo is sure to be a hit for both our residents and guests,” said Tammy Olson, Executive Director of The Village at Legacy Pointe. “We’re looking forward to an afternoon of great food and fun music to celebrate the season.”
