Plea deal taken in voter fraud case

Tehvedin Murgic of Dallas County has entered a guilty plea for election misconduct and will pay a fine of $1,325.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) referred the case to Dallas County Attorney Wayne Reisetter who filed the election misconduct charges.

According to Iowa Secretary of State Matt Schultz in a recent release he stated how voter crime is a serious matter.

“Voter fraud is a serious crime and Iowa voters expect the integrity of elections to be held to the highest standard,” Schultz said. “DCI diligently worked on this voter fraud case and I appreciate County Attorney Reisetter bringing charges in this case so Iowa voters can be sure the integrity of future elections is not in doubt.”
