What started as a gathering of friends enjoying a cup of coffee has turned into a four-year tradition at the Linden gazebo in western Dallas County.
Last Thursday, June Rector, Lorene Moore and Joy Knight gathered to enjoy coffee and dessert while discussing the area news and gossip.
Knight was a special education teacher at Ralston High School in Omaha, Neb. from 1977 to 1989 and worked as a kindergarten teacher in the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District in the early 1990s.
Knight also worked as a staff writer for the Dallas County News, creating a feature called “Get to Know Your Neighbor,” where she interviewed area citizens.
The trio, all Linden residents, were also discussing the upcoming Linden Daze celebration. The 10th annual event held in Linden is scheduled for mid-August.
