Greetings from Van Meter! Our boys are onto State for baseball. Here is the information. We play Iowa City Regina at Principal Park on Monday, July 28th at 8pm. I am so proud and to know they come from the hometown of Bob Feller! Awesome! Be sure to keep an eye out for future years as I have witnessed there are more great ball players to come. Boys and Girls!

It has sure been a busy week. We have had a lot of reading time turned in. We end our summer reading on August 1st. That is the last day to turn in your time. On Saturday August 2nd at 9:30 in the library we will announce the summer’s grand prize winners. Here are the prizes Teens: 1st place $200.00 cash, 2nd place $25.00 1/2 book store, and 3rd place $10.00 to Caseys.

For the kids: 1st place $75.00, 2nd place $25.00 to the1/2 price book store and 3rd place is $10.00 to Caseys. One patron paid for these prizes and I would like to say Thank you! You know who you are! Since we did a lot with science and math this summer I thought cash for first place would be awesome so the winner could save or spend it!

Afterwards at 10am -noon we will be showing RIO 2 in the firehouse with popcorn and Popsicles! Everyone is welcome! Be sure to come celebrate a fun summer of reading!
