Salutations! What crazy weather we have had! Thursday night when the winter storm blew in we kept the library open in case anyone needed us. We did have to cancel book club but every one made it home safely as far as I know. I hope all of you readers did too!

We didn’t get to discuss “Where Lilacs Still Bloom” by Jane Kirkpatrick. But I will say if you get an opportunity to read this book or about the life of Hulda Klager, please do so. What an extraordinary woman , her life and the flowers she experimented with as her legacy lives on.

Be sure to stop in and pick up the book club’s next read “Where’d Bernadette go?” If you would prefer the ebook let us know and we can help you locate that on WILBOR. I also have it available on audio.

The Sci-Fi/Fantasy lovers book club will meet on January 30th at 7pm at the library. We will watch an old sci-fi movie together and then share whatever you are currently reading. Bring your own drink and we will serve up the popcorn.

Don’t forget it is Super Hero month at the library. We have comics and books you can check out. Here are a few of the DVDS we have: “Superman”, “Man of Steel”, “Spiderman”, “Ironman”, “Batman and Robin”,” The Incredible Hulk”, “The Green Lantern” and many more.

Some other new DVDs we have:

BBC Sherlock Holmes” Season I and II

“Dr. Who”-The first season

“Beautiful Creatures”

“Despicable Me II”

“Dinosaur Hunters”

We also have many new books for children of all ages.

“Treasure Hunt” by James Patterson, new mystery series for Juniors by Jeri Massi, Barbie books, Fly Guy books, Elephant and Piggy books, I Spy books and lots of new Berenstain Bear books. Keep cheering on the Van Meter Bull Dogs. The boys basketball team has only lost one and the girls have lost three.

Keep up the great team work and Bull Dog Spirit. Be sure to stop in and have coffee and sit a spell. If you need help finding the book, ebook or another item let us know.
