Greetings! As I am writing this on Sunday we are receiving rain. The grass is greener and I have noticed a couple of plants sprouting. It is time to get the gardens planned and some indoors planting done. This next week I will be on vacation. My goal is to be outside as much as possible. I would love to get in more biking and bird watching. What are vacation favorites to you?

Michelle has received a historical trunk from ISU. This is filled with artifacts of how Iowans lived 1000 years ago. She will be sharing this with the public and after school kids. So be sure to stop in.

Our schedule coming up: April 10 - there will not be any knitting or crocheting group until next month. April 15 - The FRIENDs of the Van Meter Public Library will be meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the library. Everyone is welcome to become a FRIEND of the library.

April 17 - is the next book club. We will be discussing the book Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly at 7 p.m.

April 24 - is the next Sci Fi - Fantasy book club. We will be discussing “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury at 7 p.m.

All of the above meetings are at the library.

We received the book “King and Maxwell” by David Baldacci as a donation this past week. Every Wednesday at 10 am is story time. After school program and snack is every day right after school lets out.

Remember National Library week is coming up. We celebrate in many different ways. Be sure to stop in and get a library card, check out books, DVDs, magazines, puzzles and many other items. Let us know how your library is doing. -Jolena and Michelle
