Evelyn Lorraine White Cooper, 90, of Adel, formerly of Redfield, Iowa passed away, April 15, 2013 at Sunnybrook Care Center in Adel. Per her whishes cremation has taken place. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Lorraine as she was known by her family and friends was born April 23, 1922 in Auburn, Iowa to Albert and Iva Shannon Hoff. She was raised in Redfield and graduated from Redfield High School. While in school, Lorraine excelled in basketball.
She was united in marriage to Clifton Richard White on October 25, 1942 in Princeton, Missouri and together they became the parents of two sons, Dick and Doug. After their marriage they lived in Linden until making their home in Redfield in 1949. This marriage later ended in divorce. Lorraine moved near Greeley, Colorado in 1966 and lived there until the late 1990’s when she moved back home to be near family. She worked at the Redfield Review and the Redfield Clinic prior to moving to Greeley. While in Greeley she was employed at the Greeley Hospital for several years before retiring. Lorraine enjoyed camping, fishing, and dancing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Iva Hoff and her brother, Merle Hoff.
Lorraine leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Dick (Martha) White of Riverview, Florida and Doug (Bev) White of Redfield, Iowa; sister, Lolly Martin of Adel, Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and friends all of whom will miss her greatly.
