Hawks fall to Panthers at home

Visiting Panorama claimed a pair of victories over Woodward-Granger in WCC hoops action last Friday, with the Panthers winning the girls’ contest, 63-31, and the boys’ game, 60-35.

The W-G girls fell into an almost inescapable hole when they found themselves trailing, 22-4, after one period of play. The deficit stood at 35-16 entering the intermission and the Hawks simply could not threaten from there.

Katelynn Major led W-G with 10 points, with Dalaney Bice and Abby Musser adding six points apiece while Abby Hansen tallied four points. Two points apiece from Annie Webb and Riley Jamison and a free throw from Mary Hansen capped the Hawk offense.

The Hawk boys fell in a similar fashion, dropping into an early hole and slowly seeing their deficit widen. W-G trailed, 18-6, after one frame and 36-15 at the half, with the margin 46-27 entering the final frame.

Nick Squires had nine points for W-G, with Michael Connor contributing five points and six rebounds while Tre Loge, Alex Bodermann and Jacob Smiley provided four points apiece.
