Mabel passed away peacefully at the age of 99 with her nieces and nephews by her side in Fremont, CA. Mabel was born in Van Meter Township, Dallas County, Iowa. Graduated 8th grade from a one room school house in the country, she then attended High School in Adel and Commercial College in Des Moines, IA. She was the daughter of Ida and Albert E. Dymond. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband George, son John, brother Max, and sister Mildred Gifford. Mabel spent most of her working career in government service in Chicago where she married and raised a son. She transferred to Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX in 1971 to work in the Health Service Command of the 5th Army. She retired in San Antonio in 1976. Mabel moved to Fremont in 2006 to be close to her brother Max’s family where she lived independently until the grand age of 99. Mabel will be interred at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois where she will be laid to final rest with her husband, “the love of her life”. There will be a celebration of her life at the home of her niece and nephew Rose Marie (Dymond) Sipple and Donald Sipple, of Fremont, CA, at a date yet to be determined.
