Randell Combs, 46, of Menlo passed away at his home on Thursday, June 5, 2014. Memorial service was held at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 9 with a visitation beginning an hour prior to the service at Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Gathering for friends and family at the Combs house following the service. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com. Randell was born April 8, 1968 to James and Betty (Campfield) Combs at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He grew up in Dexter and attended Dexfield High School. Following high school he worked construction. He enjoyed working on cars with his Dad and friends. He was employed at N.L. Parkison Trucking of Earlham, serving as a truck driver and mechanic. He could fix anything that was put in front of him and he worked hard and his main goal was to take care of his family. On August 11, 2006 he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Ann Riddiford in Adel, Iowa. Together they enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, spending holidays with family and taking yearly family vacations. He cherished animals especially his dog named Dog and his horse named Beau, which were named from John Wayne movies. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, he was an avid Chicago Bears fan and loved to fish and hunt. Randy was well known to not be without his cowboy hat on. He always enjoyed reading and owned every Louis L’Amour Cowboy Books which were introduced to him by his Grandma Marlowe. He enjoyed watching western movies, mostly John Wayne ones. To which he has all of John Wayne’s movies. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: James Combs Sr.; paternal grandmother: Marlowe (Cook) Combs; maternal grandfather: Benjamin Campfield and maternal grandmother: Bessie (Berry) Campfield.

Randell is survived by his loving wife: Jacqueline Combs; step-children: Michael Comstock, Mathew Handy, Karen Handy, Kelsey King and Kim King; grandchildren: Trinity Handy, Jorie Handy, Elizabeth Handy, Bryson Hadfield, Aryella Handy, Grant Handy, Austin King and Donevan Richardson; parents: James (Vicki) Combs Jr. and Betty Combs; siblings: Shawne Combs, Ronald (Peggy) Combs, Patrick (Brandy) Combs; step-siblings: Chris (Thersea) Cleveland, Tina Miracle, Dennis Draman, Eddy Jean Draman; uncles: Robert Combs, Butch (Linda) Campfield, Richard (Jean) Campfield; aunts: Pat (Ron) Hutchins, Lorie (Don) Moore, Joan Boatwright, Kathy Daugherty and a host of other family and friends that will miss him dearly.
