Tom Scott, 99, died Friday, December 6, 2013. Private graveside services were held at Masonic Cemetery in Dallas Center.

Tom was born in Perry, graduated from Perry High School and later from Iowa State University where he was a member of AGR Fraternity. He worked as a county extension agent and a farm manager for Metropolitan Life. Tom was drafted in to the US Army in the 14th Armored Division serving in Germany and France for three years during WWII. Following his service he worked for Brenton Banks in Dallas Center for 33 years, retiring in 1979 as bank president. Tom served as the Iowa State Fair Board Treasurer for ten years and served as Mayor of Dallas Center for 4 years. He was a lay leader in the Dallas Center United Methodist Church and served on the Board of Trustees for Westmar College.

Tom is survived by his children, Cynthia (Tom) Foster of Novado, CA, Tom (Mary) Scott of Ames, Bill (Joyce) Scott of Adel and Susan (Joe) Clouse of Manhattan, KS; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife of 58 years, Helen, who passed away in 1999. Online condolences will be welcomed at IlesCares.com.
