Bits & Pieces: Good news from defenders of wildlife for 2013

I just watched an uplifting video from Defenders of Wildlife which shared accomplishments for wildlife for 2013. Among this good news: increased grazing land for bison, restoration of habitat for black footed ferrets, protection for 5 species of sharks, protection for sea turtles from off road vehicles on Cape Hatteras, and protection for the California condor. Sometimes the efforts to aid wildlife seem disheartening and a major uphill battle, but with concentrated effort much can be accomplished, as shown by this list. Individuals that join together to support groups such as Defenders of Wildlife can accomplish a great deal. Here’s hoping the list of projects helping wildlife will be even longer for 2014. If you aren’t already a member of Defenders or any of the other groups working hard to save our wildlife, think about joining for 2014 to add your efforts to a very worthy cause.
