To the Editor:
National Nurse’s Week is celebrated May 6-12. This year, the theme is “Nurses Leading the Way.” Every day nurses step forward, embracing new technologies, educating, delivering care and accepting ever-changing roles. They lead the way for their patients and the community of health care. I would like to acknowledge all the nurses in our community for the expertise and knowledge that they bring to their profession. Additionally, I’d like to recognize them for the care, concern and compassion that they show to patients and families each and every day. Nurses are equipped with a strong sense of purpose that helps as they face the daily joys and sorrows that come with being a nurse.
Nurses are consistently at the top of Gallop polls as a profession that is trusted, admired, and respected. Nurses do incredible work and should take pride in their profession each day. Every moment, every hour of everyday a nurse is touching and impacting someone’s life. Join me in thanking all the nurses in our community for the work they do and their unwavering commitment to quality care.
