Health care law offers more employment choices

To the Editor:

Yes, individuals will have more employment opportunities under the Affordable Care Act. More people will be willing to open a small business, or quit jobs where they are not treated well, or quit a second job to pay for health care costs because they had been denied health care insurance.

In 1978, I opened my retail shop. My health insurance was attached to my husband’s job and he died of cancer in 1998. Knowing that I would not qualify for full individual insurance coverage due to my acid reflex, I decided to sell my business. It would have been nice to have had the opportunity to purchase a good health care policy at a reasonable price.
