Dallas County Supervisor, Brad Golightly, was the guest speaker at a recent meeting of the Perry Lions Club at the Hotel Pattee. Golightly informed the club members about the up-coming county budget hearing.

He reviewed some of the major aspects of the budget and encouraged the club members to attend the hearing. He also told about the county’s need for office space and what some alternative plans are being considered since the bond issue to build a new office complex on the east side of Adel was defeated. He mentioned that the “county home” north of Adel is to be closed.

Thought is being given to move some offices to that building, but the facility would need renovations. He pointed out that the Iowa law mandates that the elected county officials must have offices in the county seat and the “county home” facility is not within the city limits of Adel .
