Featuring eight boys teams and five girls teams, the Hugh Norman Relays took place at A-D-M High School on Tuesday.
Norwalk walked away with first place in the boys’ division with 98 points with A-D-M finishing in second with 95. Dallas Center-Grimes got fourth place with 73 points overall and Van Meter got fifth with 67.
A-D-M won the girls’ division with 189 points while Van Meter took fifth with 66 points.
Kari Dufoe took first place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.93 while her teammate Madi Bertman got second. A-D-M’s Regan Engleman got first place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:04.23.
A-D-M’s Brianna Mueller got first in the 800 meter run, finishing in 2:27.65 while Brennan Hook finished in first in the 3000 meter run with a time of 12:23.36.
Van Meter’s Nicole Meyer got first place in the high jump with a height of 5-00 feet. A-D-M’s Bertman won the long jump with a jump of 15-08.50. Erica Baier threw the shot put 33-04 feet, good enough for first place in the event.
The Tiger girls got first place in the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 meter relays.
A-D-M’s Kyle Hovey won the boys 1600 meter run with a time of 4:57.15 while A-D-M’s Josh Berger got first place in the 3200 meter run as he finished in 10:41.20. Tate Jensen got first place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.80.
In the discus event, Brandon Brittain of Van Meter got first place with a throw of 134-01. In the high jump, DC-G’s Reese Iverson won the event with a height of 6-06. A-D-M’s Jesse Bennett got first place in the shot put with a throw of 47-11.50.
DC-G took first place in the 4x100 meter relay, the 4x200 meter relay, the 4x800 meter relay and the distance medley relay. Van Meter took first place in the 4x400 meter relay.
