Baseball and softball season set to begin for area schools

The weather is starting to turn warm, track season and soccer season are coming to an end and baseball and softball season is about to begin for high schools across the state of Iowa.

The A-D-M baseball team has the first game of the year for the area schools. They play their first game on May 26, Memorial Day, against Interstate 35 in Adel beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The rest of the teams start their season the next day, on May 27. The A-D-M softball team will play against Carlisle on the road for the season opener while the baseball team will play its second game of the season against Des Moines Roosevelt, at home again.

The DC-G baseball team will play against Ballard in Dallas Center while the softball team will play on the road against Indianola. The Van Meter baseball and softball teams will both travel to Earlham for their first games of the year.

Waukee’s baseball team will play against Des Moines North in Waukee while the softball team will play against Winterset on the road. Woodward-Granger will send both the baseball team and the softball team to Stuart to play West Central Valley to open their seasons.
