Bulldogs come up short against Earlham

Van Meter held a 2-1 lead over Earlham on Sept. 5, only to see the Cardinals rally in the final two sets to nab a 3-2 victory.

The Bulldogs won the first set, 25-13 and third set, 25-23, with Earlham winning the second, 25-19. The Cardinals took control in set four with a 25-19 victory, and edged Van Meter 15-13 in the final set.

Katie Agey recorded a team-high 11 kills for the Bulldogs to go with 15 digs. Allison Ridgway finished with nine kills, while Ali Flaherty and Allison Volk each had eight. Ellie Folkerts finished with seven in 10 attempts.

Lizzy Lyon finished with 35 assists, and Ashlyn Reicks had 20 digs and three aces.

Kacey Reynolds had 10 kills to lead Earlham.

Van Meter returns to action Sept. 17 on the road at Madrid.
