Former Woodward-Granger football standout Luke Geneser was honored for his contributions to the Central College football team this fall at the squad’s awards banquet.
Geneser is a 6’0”, 220-pound senior linebacker for the Dutch. He received his third varsity letter and finished the 2013 season with eight tackles and one forced fumble.
In Jeff McMartin’s 10th season as head coach, the Dutch finished 6-4 overall for their 50th winning season since 1961 and were part of a four-way tie for third place in the Iowa Conference.
Nine Central players received all-conference recognition, led by league defensive Most Valuable Player and D3football.com All-American Danny Samson (Baxter, CMB HS). Samson also received the team’s Heerema-Schilder MVP Award.
The Dutch have not had a losing season since 1960 and return 46 letterwinners for the 2014 season.
