The A-D-M boys’ soccer team scored a 4-1 victory over Harlan on Monday.

With the victory, the Tigers advanced to a Wednesday semifinal matchup against Dallas Center-Grimes in Grimes.

Blake Heimann got the Tigers on the board in the 3rd minute with a hard shot from the right side. The goal came minutes after play began following a 30-minute lightning delay, and minutes before a second delay started.

Johnny Reel added two second-half goals and Ryan Head scored once to put the Tigers ahead for good. Anthony Weiland, Jake Hutzell and Cade Kiddoo recorded assists, and Darold Baker had two saves in goal.

“We did start well, something that we did not do in our earlier game with DC-G,” said coach Bill Shields. “We need to make sure we are focused at the beginning of the game and remain so.”

A-D-M dropped a 3-2 decision to the Mustangs during the regular season.

The Mustangs closed out a 13-1 regular season with a 2-1 victory against Gilbert on May 16. Nathan Fricke and Kullen Neyens scored goals for DC-G, while senior goalkeeper Dylan Michael made nine saves in goal.
