It was a dominant performance all around for the A-D-M girls’ track team as they won 11 varsity events and scored 167 team points en route to a first-place finish overall at the Nevada High School Girls Track Classic on Tuesday in Nevada.
The Tigers had winners in the 100 meter dash, the 200 meter dash, the 400 meter dash and the 800 meter run. Torrie Hook of A-D-M won the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.55 seconds, Kari Dufoe won the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.25 seconds and the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:03.26 and Brianna Mueller won the 800 meter run, finishing the race in 2:24.85.
Dufoe, who won two individual events at the meet in Nevada is No. 1 in Class 3A in the state of Iowa in the 100 meter dash, No. 4 in the 200 meter dash and is a part of the 4x400 meter relay team that is ranked No. 3.
Mueller also went on to win the 3000 meter run with a time of 11:59.56 with Brennan Hook coming in second place with a time of 12:12.98. Kenzi Sutton of A-D-M finished the 400 meter hurdles race in 1:15.74, which was good enough for first place.
The Tigers were able to win three relay races at the meet in Nevada.
The Tigers’ 4x100 meter relay team of Madi Bertman, Haley Schepers, Maggi Bjustrom and Sydney Bertman got first place with a time of 52.99 seconds. The Tigers also got first place in the 4x400 meter relay, finishing with a time of 4:23.61 with a team consisting of Mueller, Jenny Wicks, Torrie Hook and Dufoe.
The Tigers also took first in the shuttle hurdle relay. The team consisting of Schepers, Sutton, Piper Freestone and Bjustrom finished the race in 1:12.26.
In field events, Sydney Bertman had a jump of 14-10.5, which got her first place in the long jump. A-D-M’s Erica Baier got first place in the discus with a throw of 102-10.
