A-D-M’s season ended with a 27-7 loss at Carroll in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs on Oct. 30.
A-D-M struggled to contain Carroll running back Jon Dvorak, who did most of the damage. He carried 37 times for 259 yards and scored all four of Carroll’s touchdowns.
Grant Goeden carried 19 times for 98 yards and scored A-D-M’s only touchdown on a 13-yard run. Kolby Whisner was 14-of-32 passing for 168 yards and an interception.
Tate Jensen caught four passes for 64 yards, while Jacob Hardy caught three passes for 65 yards. Johnny Reel added three catches.
Robby Sloss recorded a team-high 11 tackles. Jensen and Darold Baker each had 10, with Baker, Hardy and Isaac Norton recording sacks. Jensen added an interception, while Whisner and Ricky Chestnutwood recovered fumbles.
The Tigers finished the season 4-6, dropping their final four games. A-D-M positioned itself for a playoff spot early in the season by recording come-from-behind wins over Glenwood and Creston/Orient-Macksburg. A-D-M recovered an onside kick against C/O-M and scored twice in the final 40 seconds to seal a 36-35 victory.
Whisner was 140-of-278 passing for 2,090 yards, 13 touchdeowns and nine interceptions. Goeden rushed for 934 yards and 12 touchdowns, averaging 5.7 yards per carry. Jensen caught 50 passes for 898 yards and six touchdowns, and on defense, matched Baker with three interceptions.
Baker and Zach Ostendorf each finished with 88 tackles. Norton had 82 tackles, and was fourth in Class 3A with nine sacks.
