The A-D-M softball team has already matched its win total from last season with four wins, and it’s only early June. After losing their first game of the season, the Tigers won their next four.
The Tigers played two games on May 31 and in the second game of the day against Winterset in Winterset, they broke their four-game winning streak, losing to Winterset 8-5.
Taylor Boorn went 2-for-2 at the plate and scored two runs and had two RBIs with one homerun. Molly Jacobsen, who started the game on the mound for the Tigers, went 2-for-4 with two doubles in the game.
Down 8-3 going into the seventh inning, the Tigers scored two runs but were unable to close the gap losing the game.
In the first game of the day, however, the Tigers defeated Harlan 10-3. Jacobsen pitched six innings and struck out nine batters while walking three and giving up three runs.
Jacobsen also went 3-for-3 at the plate with one double and one RBI. Amanda Seiler went 2-for-3, scored two runs and batted in two more.
The Tigers dominated Nodaway Valley on May 30 behind a no-hitter from Jacobsen, who struck out 13 batters in six innings.
Caitlyn Gruening hit a homerun and had three RBIs in the game.
