High school golf season is in full swing. The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and Dallas Center-Grimes boys’ golf teams competed at a meet in Winterset on May 2.
The Tigers took third place overall at the meet with a team score of 330 while the Mustangs took fourth with a team score of 338. Gilbert won the event with Winterset taking second, Bondurant-Farrar taking fifth and Clarke taking sixth.
Neither the Tigers or the Mustangs had a medalist or a runner up at the meet.
Joe Vest of A-D-M had the fourth-best score of the day and led the way for the Tigers, shooting 74 on 18 holes. Brody Boston, a state qualifier a year ago for A-D-M shot 79 for the Tigers.
Ben Sandquist was the Tigers third-best on the day as he shot an 87, and Jake Schumacker shot 90. Trevor Harsh shot 93 for the Tigers and Ben Geadelmann rounded out the day for the Tigers, shooting 99 in an 18-hole round.
The Mustangs were led, at the meet, by Justin Carlyle, who shot 78 on the day. David Ingle and Sam Nissly tied for second-best on the team with scores of 85.
Alex Jaspering shot 90, Drew Johnson shot 93 and Blake Borchers shot 94 to round out the scores for the Mustangs.
