The Dallas Center-Grimes girls’ track team competed at the Waukee Girls Relays in Waukee on April 10 and came away with fifth place overall, scoring 71.50 team points at the meet.
DC-G’s Breanna Maier finished the 200 meter dash in 27.30 seconds and took fifth place in the event, securing four points for the Fillies’ total. Olivia Weaver finished the 100 meter hurdles in 16.89 seconds and got fourth place.
In the 3000 meter run, DC-G’s Madison Waymire was nearly nine seconds ahead of the second-place finisher as she took first place in the event with a time of 10:47.76.
DC-G’s Maddie Carpenter threw the discus 96 feet and took fifth place in the event. With a height of 4-10, Tatum Jorgensen took second in the high jump while Weaver tied for third, also with a height of 4-10.
The Fillies took third place in the 4x100 meter relay, finishing with a time of 52.78. They took fourth in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:50.
They finished the shuttle hurdle with a time of 1:07.68 which got them second place. The Fillies also took fourth in the sprint medley relay with a time of 1:58.21 and fifth place in the distance medley relay with a time of 4:51.85.
