The Iowa Girls Coaches Association released its All-District soccer teams on Monday and many girls from Dallas County were represented on the teams. Dallas Center-Grimes coach Dan James was given 2A Central District coach of the year honors.
He also had four girls named to the first team. Allison O’Brien, Jaci Finley, Lexi Rosa and goalkeeper Addy Rosa were the first-team selections for the Fillies.
O’Brien led the Fillies this season with eight goals, which tied for first on the team, while also leading the team in assists with five. Finley had four goals and one assist this season while Lexi Rosa had three goals and one assist. Addy Rosa recorded 1,073 minutes manning the goal for the Fillies and had a .857 save percentage.
A-D-M/Van Meter had four selections, two on the first team and two on the second team. Caroline Maher and Madi Bertman were named to the first team while Emily Hofmann and goalkeeper Abby Daly were named to the second team.
Maher led the Tigers with 17 goals and tied for first in assists with five. 17 goals was good enough for 13th in the state in Class 2A. Bertman had six goals and four assists on the season.
Hofmann was second on the team with nine goals and was tied for first with five assists on the season while Daly recorded 1,195 minutes in goal and had a .870 save percentage.
Waukee also had two first-teamers and two second-teamers. Alyssa Hewitt and Hannah McDevitt were both first-team selections while Ellie Cavanaugh and Morgan Seemuth were second-team selections.
Hewitt led the team in goals with 15 and was second on the team in assists with 10. Cavanaugh was right behind her in both categories with 10 goals and five assists.
McDevitt, a second-team selection led the team in assists with 11 while also scoring five goals while Seemuth scored two goals and had three assists.
