The postseason awards continue to roll in for Dallas Center-Grimes after its Class 4A state championship last month.
The Fillies landed four all-state selections, the Iowa Girls’ Athletic Coaches Association announced this week, including first-teamers Paige Lowary and Macey Wolfe.
Lowary, the Class 4A pitcher of the year, was 27-2 with a 1.21 ERA and 244 strikeouts in 191 innings. She also hit .424 with five homers and 24 RBIs and was named captain of the Class 4A all-tournament team. Wolfe, the Class 4A player of the year, hit .418 with a .649 slugging percentage and five home runs, 12 doubles and 34 RBIs.
Eighth-graders Brooke Kramer (second team) and Rachel Lowary (third team) were also picked. Kramer, a third baseman, hit .394 with an on-base percentage of .454. She was second on the Fillies in hits (50) and runs scored (35), and led the team with 18 stolen bases in 20 chances. Rachel Lowary hit .368 with two home runs, 10 doubles and 25 RBIs.
Waukee received three selections in Class 5A: first-team pick Callie Feaker and third-teamers Abby Krantz and Kaitlyn Menz. Feaker hit .431 with seven homers, 15 doubles, 26 RBIs and a .708 slugging percentage, drawing twice as many walks (18) as strikeouts (nine).
Krantz hit .286, socring 28 runs and swiping 10 bags in 14 tries. Menz emerged as the team’s primary pitcher and logged an 18-8 record and 2.20 ERA. She struck out 135 and allowed 128 hits in 159 1/3 innings.
Kenzi Sutton represented A-D-M in the Class 3A ranks with a second-team selection. The sophomore hit .449 with a .719 slugging percentage, clubbing five home runs and driving in 19.
Van Meter received two selections in Class 2A: Hope Connor, a second-team pick, and Bailey Richards, a third-team choice. Connor hit .534 and drove in 59, the second most in Class 2A. Richards, a freshman, hit .593 with an .832 slugging percentage. Her 67 hits, including 21 doubles, were second most in Class 2A.
