The Dallas Center-Grimes boys’ soccer team finally got back to its winning ways on Tuesday night against Knoxville. The Mustangs (8-5) defeated Knoxville 2-0.

Carson Kurth and Dowool Kim scored for the Mustangs in the victory over Knoxville. For Kurth, it was his fifth goal of the season, while Kim scored his first goal of the season on Tuesday.

The Mustangs wrap up the regular season on Thursday with a game against Newton at DC-G Stadium in Grimes. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Urbandale

After a four-game winning streak was snapped at the hands of Adel-DeSoto-Minburn on May 16, the Dallas Center-Grimes boys’ soccer team lost its second-straight game on Monday to Urbandale. The Mustangs (7-5) lost the game 3-1.

Tomah Leamah had four shots on goal for the Mustangs and scored their only goal of the game in the loss.

The goalkeeping duties were split between junior Colin Quass and sophomore Zach Thompson. Quass played 40 minutes for the Mustangs and gave up three goals while making three saves for a .500 save percentage.

Thompson played the other 40 minutes and made four saves while not allowing a goal.
