The No. 6 Dallas Center-Grimes boys’ soccer team got a 2-1 win over Winterset on April 26 in Grimes and extended their record to 4-3 on the season. The Mustangs pulled back above the .500 mark after starting the season 3-0 before losing three-straight matches.
DC-G junior Kullen Neyens had both Mustang goals in the match against Winterset on eight shots on goal. The Mustangs had a total of 24 shots on goal in the match.
Neyens now leads the Mustangs this year with six goals and four assists.
DC-G goalkeeper Colin Quass played all 80 minutes for the Mustangs and made five saves while allowing just one goal for a .833 save percentage. Quass has played all but four minutes in goal for the Mustangs this season and has allowed eight goals and has a .892 save percentage.
The Mustangs’ game on Tuesday against Newton was postponed due to rain. The Mustangs’ next scheduled match is on May 6 against Oskaloosa at Oskaloosa Middle School at 7 p.m.
