Mustangs pull their record even

On Tuesday night, after several previous games were canceled and postponed, the Dallas Center-Grimes baseball team played against Newton on the road. The Mustangs fell by a score of 1-0 and saw their record drop below .500 (10-11).

Games scheduled for June 26 and 27 were canceled due to rain and severe weather for the Dallas Center-Grimes baseball team, but before that on June 25, the Mustangs pulled their record to .500 with a pair of wins against Norwalk. The Mustangs won 9-3 and 5-3 in the double header in Dallas Center.

Alex Jaspering went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double and scoring two runs in game one of the double header. Parker Schutt was 0-for-1 at the plate but still had two RBIs.

Max Balzer picked up the win in the first game. The win brought his record to 4-2 on the season while carrying a 1.59 ERA.

Cole Baker went the distance on the mound in game two while striking out eight batters and giving up only one earned run (three total).

Jacob Mueller went 2-for-3 at the plate, scored two runs and stole two bases. Justin Carlyle went 2-for-3 and had two RBIs. Tyler Pierson also scored two runs for the Mustangs in the second game of the double header.
