On April 10, the Dallas Center-Grimes boys’ track team competed at the Gary Doubrava Track Invitational at Urbandale. The Mustangs took eighth overall at the meet with 21 points.
DC-G’s Austin Grosklags took third place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 53.50 while Trey Chumbley took ninth place in the same event with a time of 55.95. Aaron Anderson got ninth in the 110 meter hurdles, finishing in 17.53 seconds.
In the 3200 meter run, Nick Smith took 10th place with a time of 10:50.38. Callen Bertrand got seventh in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 59.71 seconds.
Reese Iverson took second place in the high jump with a height of 6-06, which was just Jared Seay of Johnston, who won the event.
DC-G’s Noah Weeks got seventh place in the long jump with a distance of 19-09.75.
The Mustangs competed as a team in all six relay races. They finished the 4x100 meter relay in 44.69 seconds, which was good enough for fifth place.
They got sixth place in the 4x200 meter relay as they finished the race in 1:33.18. They got fifth in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:39.92.
With a time of 8:59, the Mustangs got sixth place in the 4x800 meter relay. The Mustans got seventh in the shuttle hurdle relay and sixth in the distance medley relay.
