Potts picks up all-conference recognition

Waukee senior Morgan Potts this week was named to the all-Central Iowa Conference’s second team.

Potts, the Warriors’ libero, ranked ninth in Class 5A with 484 digs, an average of 4.8 per set. She was also 353-of-376 serving with 35 aces.

Five Waukee players received all-Eastern Division honorable mentions: Emilee Anderson, Erin Bramble, Danika Mikesh, Schylir Rowen and Lauren Vespa.

Anderson led the team with 199 kills and a .376 efficiency, Bramble had 90 kills and 20 blocks, Mikesh finished with 35 aces and 270 digs, Rowen added 74 kills and 12 aces, and Vespa had 391 assists.

Bramble also joined teammates Alex Smolik and Gabby Magee on the Iowa Girls Coaches Association’s all-state academic team.

Waukee finished the season 19-20.
