The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn girls’ soccer team is off to a 2-0 start. They defeated Carroll 11-0 in the first game of the season on April 7, and just defeated Des Moines Roosevelt on Tuesday at Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines by a score of 3-0.
The Tigers scored early in the first half and carried a 1-0 lead into halftime. They took a 2-0 lead early in the second and sealed it with a third goal late in the second half.
A-D-M’s Chelsea Bright and May Chelsea each had one goal and one assist. Jenny Wicks also scored for the Tigers and Emily Hofmann also had an assist.
The preseason Iowa Girls High School Athletics Union soccer rankings has the Tigers ranked No. 11 after going 12-7 last season and qualifying for the state tournament where they lost to Cedar Rapids Xavier 4-1 in the first round.
The Tigers return to action against Norwalk in Adel on Thursday. The game begins at 7 p.m. at A-D-M Stadium.
Norwalk is 0-3 to start the season. They lost to Grinnell 5-4 on Tuesday.

Caroline Maher, a senior this season, had three goals with five shots on goal. Junior Emily Hofmann had two goals and one assist in the match.
Senior Shania Bartels also had two goals and one assist. Madi Bertman and Sydney Bertman each had one goal and one assist.
Chelsea Bright and May Chelsea each had one goal while Allie Cook and Sarah Koch each had one assist in the match. Abby Daly was the starting goalkeeper for the Tigers and preserved the shutout.
