Tigers inch closer to conference title

A-D-M is one win away from winning the Raccoon River Conference title outright after a thrilling, five-set win at Bondurant-Farrar on Tuesday.

The Tigers held a 2-1 lead, 25-21, 19-25, 25-22, before the Bluejays rallied to win the fourth 25-22. A-D-M countered with a 15-11, fifth-set victory to improve to 6-0 in conference play. B-F fell to 5-1.

Allison Gottschalk had a team-high 16 kills to pace the Tigers. Abby Merschman added eight, and both Torrie Hook and Haley Schepers finished with seven. Marissa Felt had 16 assists and three of the team’s four aces, and Maddie Powers had 23 digs.

Selena Nolte had eight kills to lead the Fillies. Sam Zamzow added four, and Lexi Rosa finished with three. Jenna Humke finished with 11 assists and two aces.

A-D-M can win the conference title outright with a victory in the regular season finale against Carroll on Oct. 22.

The Tigers also scored a 25-12, 25-18, 26-24 victory over Dallas Center-Grimes on Oct. 10. Hook hit .500 and amassed 17 kills and 12 digs. Gottschalk had 12 kills and six digs and Schepers added six kills. Felt had 20 assists, while Brennan Hook finished with 16.
