Tigers lead all-RRC selections

Raccoon River Conference-champion A-D-M came away with five all-conference selections.

The Tigers landed three first-team picks: seniors Torrie Hook, Maddie Powers and Haley Schepers. Allison Gottschalk and Brennan Hook were named to the second team.

Torrie Hook, who was also named to the all-state academic team by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association, finished with a team-high 285 kills and a .309 hitting efficiency, as well as 24 aces on 88 percent serving. She was also second on the team with 311 digs, an average of 3.2 per set.

Powers, the team’s libero, piled up 399 digs, averaging more than 4 per set. She also added 21 aces on 296-of-316 (93.7 percent) serving.

Schepers finished with 184 kills and a .290 efficiency. She also served at a 94.8 percent success rate and was second on the team with 30 aces.

Gottschalk, who battled injuries and appeared in just over half of the team’s sets, still recorded 171 kills and a .258 efficiency. Brennan Hook recorded 432 assists and 51 blocks in her sophomore season.

A-D-M finished the year 25-13, and posted a 7-0 conference mark to win the RRC title.
