Tigers split against Ballard

A-D-M split a doubleheader with Ballard on Dec. 20 in Adel.

The Tiger girls held off the Bombers to win 41-39, while the boys fell in the nightcap 66-59.

Sydney Bertman scored 12 points for the A-D-M girls, while Molly Jacobsen added 11 points and Madi Bertman eight. Kendra Chapman scored seven.

The A-D-M boys got 17 points from both Jackson VerWoert and Logan Essy, but the Tigers fell short in a 66-59 loss.

VerWoert shot 7-of-9 from the field, including a trio of 3-pointers, and added five rebounds and two assists. Essy finished with four rebounds and four assists.

Jacob Hardy added eight points and five rebounds, and Robby Sloss finished with five points and five assists. Both Johnny Reel and Jake Sloss added five points off the bench.

The Tigers return from break on Jan. 3 with a trip to Dallas Center-Grimes.
