Warriors keep rolling

The Waukee boys’ soccer team has now won six-straight games after its 2-0 win against Urbandale on Tuesday. Sophomore Alex Herrera and Luke Fegen each had a goal in the game.

Fegen also had an assist, as did Jon Brimeyer. Noah Jackson had to make 10 saves against Urbandale to preserve the shutout for the Warriors.

The Warriors (11-2) are ranked No. 10 in the most recent Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association rankings, which came out on April 30 when the Warriors had an 8-2 record.

The Warriors’ next game is against Southeast Polk in Altoona on Friday. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.

Ankeny Centennial

It was the top two scorers for the Warriors who helped put the Warriors on the board and lift them to a 1-0 win against Ankeny Centennial on May 2.

Senior Isaac Bruns, who led the team with seven goals and six assists after the game, scored the only goal of the game. Alex Herrera, who is second on the team in scoring with six goals and six assists, had the assist on Bruns’s goal.

Colton Nickell manned the goal for the Warriors in the game against Centennial and made seven saves in 80 minutes of play. With Noah Jackson as the primary goalkeeper for the Warriors, Nickell has played 160 minutes this season and has made seven saves while allowing just one goal for a .909 save percentage.
