Warriors second, Fillies seventh at Indianola

Waukee put its scoring five in the top 16, but was edged by Urbandale, 51-55, for the team title in Indianola on Sept. 26.

Erika Lewis finished third overall in 15 minutes, 32 seconds, followed by Rachel Brush, who was seventh in 15:45. Kayla Sabotin (14th in 16:21), Bri Young (15th in 16:24) and Jordan Allen (16th in 16:24) rounded out the scoring. Freshman Maggie Laird was 19th, and Taylor Tornberg was 30th

Dallas Center-Grimes finished seventh with a score of 206. Sydnee Hendricks was 22nd in 16:43, Emma Bravard was 32nd in 17:20, Brooke Jacobsen was 47th in 18:10 and Jessica Pugh was 51st in 18:23. Maci Masching (54th) and Kirsten Lundy (66th) completed the Fillies’ varsity lineup.

The Mustangs finished 13th in the 16-team boys’ race. Chad Connelly posted DC-G’s fastest time in 18:43, good for 46th place. Carsen Kurth was 61st in 19:07, Colin Martin was 67th in 19:15, Nick Smith was 69th in 19:17 and Josh Paulson was 70th in 19:38. Austin Goode (86th) and Ross Miller (88th) also ran.
