Warriors win four at home tournament

The Waukee volleyball team won four of five matches at its home tournament on Sept. 21.

The Warriors beat Des Moines Lincoln, 21-10, 21-10; Madrid, 25-10, 25-6; Stanton, 21-15, 21-13; and Panorama, 21-4, 21-4. Their lone loss came to West Des Moines Valley, in a 25-22, 21-25, 12-15 decision.

Erin Bramble led the team with 19 kills on the day. Emilee Anderson finished with 18, while Denise Ssozi contributed 17 and Taylor Voorhees 16.

The team hit .419 against Des Moines Lincoln, its highest mark of the day.

Waukee went on to drop a three-set decision at Urbandale on Tuesday, 25-20, 25-19, 25-14. Individual statistics were not available at press time.

The Warriors return to action Saturday at a tournament in Cedar Falls. The field includes Class 2A No. 8 Grundy Center, and Class 5A No. 5 Cedar Falls.
