Waukee girls remain unbeaten

The Waukee boys’ soccer team has extended its record to 3-1 on the season after a 2-1 win on the road against Des Moines Lincoln on April 10.

Luke Fegen scored his second goal of the season in the match against Lincoln while Alex Herrera also scored his second goal of the season. Both Fegen and Herrera are tied for first on the team in goals.

Noah Jackson was the goalkeeper for the Warriors against Lincoln and made five saves in 81 minutes while allowing just one goal.

Girls v.s. Urbandale

The Waukee girls’ soccer team remained unbeated after a 2-1 win against Urbandale that came down to a shootout on April 11 at Waukee Stadium. The Warriors were 2-0 after the win against Urbandale and won both of their first two games 2-1 in a shootout.

Senior Alyssa Hewitt scored the only goal in regulation for the Warriors. The goal was her first of the season, putting her in a tie at the top of the team scoring stats with Rebecca Corbett.

It took six penalty kicks in the shootout for the Warriors to come out on top. Miranda Hunzeker was the goalkeeper for the Warriors and made three saves in regulation in the 2-1 shootout win.
