Waukee has nine girls selected for All-CIC teams

The Central Iowa Conference All-Conference soccer teams have been announced and the Waukee girls’ soccer team (16-5), who made it to the second round of the state tournament before being knocked out by the eventual champion Ankeny, had five girls selected to the first and second all-conference teams and four for the eastern division all-conference team as well as two who received honorable mentions.

Senior midfielder Rachel Muse and senior defender Ellie Bunz were selected to the All-CIC first team as well as the Eastern Division All-CIC first team. Muse finished the season with 22 points (8 goals, 6 assists) and Bunz led the Warriors in goals with 16. Seven assists brings Bunz to a total of 39 points on the season.

Senior forward Taylor Woods and senior defender Jessica Duff received second-team all-CIC honors as well as well as first-team Eastern Division All-CIC honors. Sophomore midfielder Hannah McDevitt was selected for the All-CIC second team and the Eastern Division All-CIC second team.

Woods led the Warriors with 42 points (12 goals, 18 assists) and Duff finished the season with seven points (1 goal, 5 assists). McDevitt had 24 points (9 goals, 6 assists) this past season.

Alyssa Hewitt, Carly Hewitt, Hannah Cook and goalkeeper Miranda Hunzeker all received second-team Eastern Division All-Conference honors and Anna Kollmorgen and Morgan Seemuth received Eastern Division All-Conference honorable mentions.

Alyssa Hewitt was fourth on the team with 35 points (13 goals, 9 assists), Carly Hewitt, a defender, started 20 games this season and had one assist and Cook had 14 points (4 goals, 6 assists) on the season. Hunzeker played 1,302 minutes and had nine goals against and a .804 save percentage.

Kollmorgen was second on the team with 40 points (14 goals, 12 assists) this season and Seemuth played in 19 games.
